Having not attended CSU, I'm not privy to the insight you have on the past or present situation. However, the fact that the President of the University makes a statement that they are "accommodating" people is off putting at best.

When an organization embraces diversity and inclusion their actions speak for them. Dissension and discord happen when all parties are not heard, feel included, and are underrepresented. Sure, there are many other reasons, but for universities, homes of "higher learning" to forget the advantages of diversity and inclusion, ignore the opportunities of multiple views, and to feel as those they are "accommodating" any one group flushes the idea of having an openly inclusive, diverse, space for learning and cultural competence down the proverbial drain.
